Get started with Telegram integration
Below is a concise, step-by-step guide to get your Telegram bot connected to HubSpot via our custom channel integration. Once set up, you and your team can manage Telegram conversations directly from HubSpot’s inbox or help desk.
1. Create Your Telegram Bot in BotFather
-
Open BotFather in Telegram
-
On your mobile or desktop Telegram app, search for “@BotFather.”
-
-
Create a Bot
-
Type
/newbot
and follow BotFather’s prompts (choose a name and username for your new bot).
-
-
Copy the Bot Token
-
After BotFather creates your bot, it will provide a Bot Token (something like
123456789:ABCD...
). -
Save this token—you’ll need it to connect your bot to HubSpot.
-
2. Register and Connect Your HubSpot Portal to Our App
-
Visit the App Site
-
Go to tools.resonatehq.com/tgapp in your browser.
-
-
Sign Up or Log In
-
Create an account if you’re new, or log in with your existing credentials.
-
-
Connect Your HubSpot Portal
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize our app with your HubSpot portal.
-
You may be asked to grant permissions for our app to access your conversations inbox and other relevant HubSpot features.
-
3. Add the Telegram Custom Channel in HubSpot
Once you’ve connected your HubSpot portal to our app, set up the custom channel in HubSpot:
-
Go to Your HubSpot Inbox Settings
-
In HubSpot, click the Settings icon (top-right).
-
In the left sidebar menu, select Inbox & Help Desk > Inbox.
-
-
Connect a Channel
-
In the top right, click Connect a channel.
-
From the available options, choose the Telegram (custom channel) that corresponds to our integration.
-
-
Open the “Connect Telegram Bot to HubSpot Inbox” Window
-
You’ll see a screen prompting you to enter your Telegram Bot Token.
-
4. Validate and Submit Your Telegram Bot Token
-
Enter Your Telegram Bot Token
-
Paste the token you copied from BotFather into the Telegram Token field.
-
-
Click “Validate”
-
Our system will verify the token.
-
If valid, the Validate button disappears, and you’ll see additional fields:
-
Channel Name (a friendly name for your bot, e.g., “HubSpot Support Bot”).
-
Delete any existing webhook for this bot (recommended to avoid duplicate updates).
-
-
-
Complete the Setup
-
Adjust any additional settings as needed.
-
Click Submit to finalize the connection.
-
Congratulations! Your Telegram bot is now connected to your HubSpot conversations inbox.
5. How It Works in HubSpot
-
Incoming Messages
-
When someone sends a message to your Telegram bot, it automatically appears in your HubSpot inbox or help desk.
-
You’ll see the Telegram user’s name and username in the conversation details.
-
-
Reply to Messages
-
Open the conversation, type your reply in the reply editor, and click Send.
-
You can include links, images, or file attachments directly from HubSpot. Attachments (images, documents, etc.) will go through both ways—Telegram to HubSpot and HubSpot to Telegram.
-
-
Additional Inbox Tools
-
Assign conversations to team members,
-
Use snippets or templates,
-
Create tickets and associate them with contacts,
-
And more, just like any other HubSpot conversation channel
